Evening Cruise

It has been a couple of months since I posted anything here and I really can’t say why, we’ve been busy (but not all that busy).

Mary at the helm.

Anyway, I have missed blogging and now I intend to pickup with tonight’s post link.

We spent a pleasant afternoon playing cards with our friends Phyllis and Bill who live near the Yacht Club and on the way home, I suggested that we drop by our slip and check to see if Silver Lining was still afloat.

This has been an interesting year in that golf has far eclipsed sailing in the hierarchy of retirement activities.  We both beat ourselves up because there never seems to be enough time to do everything we want to accomplish and the boat always seems to come in anywhere but first in our plans.

This evening we took her out for a short trip across the lake to check out a possible anchorage for a gunkholing adventure we have been contemplating for a couple of years.  There was virtually no wind but the trusty Tohatsu cranked right up and away we went for a great 40 minute ride.  It took all of 5 minutes to get away from the slip and about the same to get back in again.

Richard taking it easy.

The evening was beautiful and we promised ourselves to do it again within a week, we just have to find a time among the gardening, book club, golf, banjo picking, wine maker’s dinner, Library wine tasting and a few other minor things on the schedule this week.

This retirement business is hard work!

How did we ever find time to work?
look at these guys
