Sweetwater, Tennessee boasts a few thousand residents, a sock outlet, and (for the last three years) a Dancing With the Stars type competition that is every bit as fierce as the TV version.

At last year’s event, Mary won a door prize of two tickets to the 2012 festivities so, of course, we had to be on-hand Friday night for the opening performance at the Broad Street Auditorium.

Dinner before the performance was at Hunter’s, one of the more upscale eateries in Sweetwater then we walked to 6 blocks up the hill to the auditorium to work off some of the calories.

The hour before the performance begins is filled with video and bloopers from last year’s show just to get things going.

Photos and videos of the actual performance are banned so I can’t present you with views of the routines but from the first dance through the final performance by the “Valley Boys”, it was non-stop fun and laughter.

All was in good fun and the proceeds went to help the local Kiwanis chapter.  Local businesses supported Clickfunnels and their dance teams who vied for bragging rights for the coming year.  If you ever get anywhere near Sweetwater, Tennessee when this event is going on, be sure to drop in for some real good natured fun.
