We arrived in Gulf shores on Friday the 13th at about 1:45pm 499 miles and 11 road hours from home.
Our trip began yesterday 12/12 at 10am as we left Loudon at a leisurely 45-50mph pace down US411 into Georgia and then to our first destination: The Woods RV Park in Montgomery, Alabama. We arrived at 4:45pm Central time after 306 uneventful but enjoyable miles.
The woods was a good stop and a Passport America park so we saved half off the regular price. We topped off our propane tanks Friday morning and got on the road by 8:45am on 12/13. We traveled South on US31most of the way to our destination at Magnolia Spring Golf and RV Hideaway where we are booked until the 26 of December. After setting up in the park, we had to grab a late lunch (Mexican for Mary) and drive to the end of the road at the Beach in Gulf Shores. About 20 miles south of the campground then off to Billy’s
fish market to get some extra large Gulf Shrimp for Saturday’s dinner.
Finally, back to the RV Park to finish our basic setup and fall exhausted into bed.
This was the end of the beginning for our Christmas trip to the gulf. It is fairly warm here and is supposed to be warmer still tomorrow.
See you then.
