Are we having fun yet?
Our North Carolina friends Andrea & Jim called us a couple of weeks ago and said, “Lets go to Key West” so we said OK and so, on April 4th, the adventure began!
After a stop in Johnson City, TN for a Dr. appointment, we headed over the mountains to meet our friends at their home in Lexington, North Carolina.
The predicted rain in the mountains turned to freezing rain. Then sleet. Then Snow! Then, instead of ending at the bottom of the Blue Ridge Escarpment, snow continued all the way to the Yadkin River at the Forsyth County line.

We finally arrived safely in Lexington and headed to dinner at Steven’s Restaurant on Highway 150. Hiding inside for a surprise reunion was Mary’s old friend and former co-worker Christy – the three ladies talked about old times, nursing and their many shared experiences.
Arriving later were friends Pat and Larry so we had a great mini-reunion and excellent food.
Finally back to Andrea & Jim’s place for the night and our Friday morning start!
