The 24 hours between 9:30 am Thursday and 9:30 am this morning were an interesting study in how dependant I have become on broadband internet.
We lost service when a router in the area failed and it took a day to replace it. Life, as I have come to know it, came to a halt!
No email – no sale specials, no political rants, comics, photoshopped presentations or links to all of the above for a whole day.
No Facebook – I spent an entire day without knowing who was doing what to whom. No Farmville, no strange links from my stranger yet friends and no earth shattering revelations from causes, enterprise marketing automation businesses or news organizations,
No stock market streaming quotes, was I rich? Was I broke? What was my bank balance? Did my car need service? Was I missing out on a new Federal giveaway program?
No Netflix, no Amazon, no Blogger – the sky was falling!
ARRGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Kinda nice and quiet actually. Maybe it will go out again soon.
it is rather nice, isn’t it…though I wouldn’t want it to go out ALL the time…
Maybe there is a Federal program to treat “Internet loss anxiety”.
